Welcome to SACG’s webinar on protecting brands in Russia 2026: Current risks and practical strategies with Riikka Palmos (Senior Partner, Papula-Nevinpat law firm) November 25th, 2026

The landscape for protecting intellectual property rights in Russia has changed considerably in recent years. International brand owners face new challenges, ranging from non-use cancellation actions and parallel imports to counterfeiting, online enforcement and an evolving legislative environment. Yet despite these changes, trademark rights in Russia can still be protected and enforced. In this webinar, Riikka Palmos, Senior Partner, Deputy Managing Director and Trademark Director at Papula-Nevinpat, will provide a practical overview of the current IP landscape in Russia and discuss what international rights holders should be paying particular attention to. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience in trademark protection in the region, she will look at recent developments, the risks facing foreign brand owners and the practical measures companies can take to maintain and defend their rights.

The webinar will address, among other things:
• maintaining trademark protection and managing the growing risk of non-use cancellation actions;
• parallel imports and their impact on brand owners;
• counterfeiting and enforcement in the current environment;
• online marketplaces and practical enforcement challenges; and
• recent legislative and practical developments affecting foreign rights holders
